5-Star Resort - "Causeway on Gull", Nisswa, Minnesota (RCI &II)

Our family enjoying the beautiful indoor pool at "Causeway on Gull" , Nisswa, Minnesota - Christmas Dec. 2006

We booked our Christmas week into "Causeway on Gull", Nisswa, Minnesota, thinking we would be in the beautiful double homes shown in the photo in the Interval International directory and on the resorts web site www.causewayongull.org .

When we arrived, we found out that we were booked into a newer 6 - unit building, built on a hill, overlooking the main check-in building and the marina. We were somewhat disappointed because the 6 unit building, even though newer than the twin homes, was not of the same quality as the twin homes. Having previously stayed in the twin home timeshare units, we had been familiar with those units. The sound proofing in the 6 unit building was sub-standard. We could hear the people in the unit below us as plain as day. Compared to other resorts in which we had previously stayed, it was one of the worst cases of building sound proofing and being able to hear the neighbors.

Other than that, the resort staff was helpful, the game room in the main check-in area was very nice. With free internet access in the game room, a variety of movies to watch, a pool table, and books to read, the game room was always busy. Spending time in a separate building in the spacious, indoor pool provided an excellent place for us to be with our grandchildren and their parents. A sauna was also available to guests. On Christmas Day, we were able to host 15 people for Christmas dinner in our well-furnished, 2-bedroom unit.

Overall, we would rate the resort as a 5 Star resort in the Interval International exchange system for the summer and winter area activities that are available.

Our Recommendations. If you are trading into the resort, definitely try to book into the twin home timeshare units.
