Deeded property. We prefer titled timeshare real estate over points, what is your opinion?

***Below and to the right is our two bedroom time share unit at "The Village at Izaty's" in Minnesota
Deeded time share property is what we prefersince that is what we were first introduced to here in Minnesota. In other words, it is no different from a title to our home. The deed gives us a specific location at a specific resort and a specific week. Transferring ownership to our children will be a simple matter. Seven years prior to retirement, I was working at "The Village at Izaty's Resort" in central Minnesota which was owned by Midwest Resorts a corporation with headquarters located in Minneapolis-St.Paul, Minnesota. They owned two timeshare resorts in Minnesota. The other resort they owned was called "Causeway On Gull" on Gull Lake in Northern Minnesota. Causeway on Gull had been selling time deeded time share weeks for at least 15 years. Causeway on Gull was affiliated with the RCI exchange system. While working at the "The Village at Izaty's" deeded time shares resort, "Causeway on Gull" started to implement a points based time share system, as a trial, with the Fairfield Resorts time share affiliation. The salespeople at our Village at Izaty's project were watching how that program was going to be implemented. I was skeptical. In a way, it was strange that two resorts one in the Interval International exchange system and the other in the RCI exchange system and owned by the same company, seemed to be competing with each other. Now, this is my personal opinion. What I saw was that the "Causeway on Gull" resort was now calling all of their 1,000's of time share owners and inviting them to another presentation, then presenting another option of exchanging or trading, but the customer would be trading their titled weeks of time shares for points in the Fairfield resort program which was also affiliated with the RCI exchange system. More money out of the current customers' pockets to exchange to points and generating more cash flow to the resort.
Well, they did convert a lot of time share weeks owners, generating cash flow for the resort. The Fairfield point system didn't sell for long at the Causeway on Gull time share resort. Less than 2 years. Those who purchased points still own points in the RCI system as far as I know. However, the Fairfield Resorts points system is now owned by the Wyndham Vacation Resorts. I have only met one Causeway on Gull time share owner who purchased points who was happy, but they also kept a deeded week. The concept of points did not seem to work well, The "Village at Izaty's"Resort, did not convert to the point system which was affiliated with the "Interval International" exchange system. My wife and I are not convinced that points work as well as titled weeks. Maybe we're wrong. What's your opinion?
We want your opinion about deeded timeshare versus points.
We have been to many timeshare presentations with resorts selling the value of points versus a specific titled week.
What do you prefer and why? Give us your persnal opinion so others can make their own decisions rather than taking the opinion of a biased salesperson.

I wish I had not bought. I don't feel it is worth the hassle of trying to get the time and location you want. You have to book a year in advance to stay ...
Weeks or Points

This past fall we bought a 2-bedroom lockout week in Las Vegas. At the time of purchase we inquired about weeks or points because we could go either way....
