Lake Forest Resort (Eagle River, Wisconsin)

If you are into boating as I am, or fishing, then you need to go to Lake Forest Resort Resort in Eagle River, Wisconsin. This time-share resort was created in the 1970's but is extremely well maintained and has been updated over the years.
Every timeshare condo is exactly the same. Two story, 2 big bedrooms on upper floor that sleep 4 and downstairs that has fully stocked big kitchen, living room that has a sleeper sofa, love seat and 2 swivel rockers natural wood burning fireplace and sliding doors for walkout to the lake. Many docks for your boats or boats you might rent. 14' Aluminum boats are there free for your use as well. Canoes too. 10hp outboard motors are available to rent.
The "lake" actually is just one of 26 lakes in a chain which just happens to be "The largest inland fresh-water chain of lakes IN THE WORLD" according to the sign just outside of the town of Eagle River. This was the most thrilling boating experience I have ever had. I've go a boat that goes 52 mph and it took me all of 9 hrs to travel from one end to the other. This included the no wake channels and stopping for lunch of course, as well as cruising slowly in many areas to admire the scenery, the Bald Eagles overhead and looking at turtles on logs sunning theirselves which you NEVER see elsewhere because of over-development.
There are two 3,000+ towns within 10 miles of the Chain-O-Lakes and several marinas on the water to buy gas, rent any kind of boat especially including all sizes on Pontoon Boats, ski boats etc. At least 1/3 of the lakes have bars or restaurants on the water and you simply dock at their docks and go in and eat or drink.
The resort itself has tennis courts, game rooms, an indoor pool house with the biggest pool I have ever seen in a building. Also hot tubs and a sauna.
I'm not an employee of this place and don't own a timeshare there but I did check out the prices and you can actually buy summer weeks from other owners where you have a specific unit and assigned week for under $10,000. And prices are negotiable. I was there in the 3rd week of August and most people there were without kids as they have to be back to school then. The weather was fabulous, mid to high 70's, and low humidity. If you go here once, you'll go again. I rented a week already for August 2010 and the cost was $1200.
They have a website. Check it out.
