Village at Izaty's amenities are back---June 8, 2009 by: Anonymous
Izarty's resort, which provides the amenities for The Village at Izaty's, has reopened. Blackbrook, the challenging 18 hole golf course that is among the best in Minnesota, is open and is refurbished. The 18 hole Sanctuary course will be closed the year for major upgrading. I enjoy playing both courses.
They have a great package of all the holes you can play on Blackbrook, including riding cart and lunch for about $50 - $70, depending on the day and time of year. I get in at least 36 holes.
The clubhouse, pool, pro shop, restaurant, etc. are open.
The sewer system for the Village at Izaty's was never included in the bankruptcy.
It has been several years since we have stayed there since my son and I or a friend has used the week for warm weather golf in February. Some friends of ours visited one of the units a few months ago and were very impressed.
Our unit was always in first class condition; the price for an extended length golf cart to use during the week to run around the resort was very reasonable as was the price for a boat slip.
Now that the resort is up and running again, this is definitely a top-notch timeshare.

Finest facilities? by: Anonymous
I have owned a timeshare at Izatys for over 10 years, and (unfortunately) I can say that the assessment that these are the "finest units you will ever stay in" is way off. I no longer use my unit/week at Izatys, but instead ALWAYS trade for a week somewhere else. The units have NOT been maintained at all over the past few years, and housekeeping is minimal at best. Last year we did use our week there (tried to bank it too late) and the same broken tiles, worn-out carpet, broken-and-then-glued-back-together table, and peeling wallpaper existed that we encountered over 7 years ago. When we called to the registration desk to ask that housekeeping be sent over to at least remove the cobwebs and the brown ring in the bathtub, we were told that nothing could be done until the manager arrived on Monday morning. It would be one thing if the resort amenities were available and these poor unit conditions existed, but the combination of these run-down environments (as well as the flippant and resentful attitudes of the majority of the local people) make this the LAST place that I would consider visiting.

Izatys amenities are CLOSED until further notice by: Anonymous
If you are thinking of vacationing at Izatys, please be aware that, as of 5/14/08, there are no plans to open the amenities that have made this a 5-star resort. I talked to them yesterday. There are two entities involved with Izatys: the association that runs the timeshares and the company that owns the resort. The association is still booking timeshares, but the company that owns the resort is in bankruptcy and has no plans of opening the amenities. I was told that none of the pools, golf courses, pro shop, marina, etc. will be open in 2008, until there is a new owner and that owner hires staff and prepares the facilities. See http://makeitmillelacs.blogspot.com/ (or Google Izatys bankruptcy) for further details.
