Outstand Article about Timeshare gift offers!
by: Cary & Elaine Johnson

I couldn't have said it better myself. And now to understand that the resort that is offering this opportunity is saying they will be sending a 1099 IRS statement showing the value of the gift to be taxable. This is nuts. To begin with, does one have to send in a Social Security # to some outfit so they can send you a 1099 IRS Miscellaneous income statement.

To begin with the average cost to a resort now days to get a customer into their doors is around $400 to $500 dollars. However, you have to trade your time by listening to the presentation. It would sound reasonable to me that just because you are on vacation that your time would not be any less worthwhile. So, should someone who attends a presentation get the Fed I.D # of the resort and send them a 1099 IRS Income statement.

I never did feel these round-trip vacation airline certificates were worth all the hoops one would have to go through. But people do go for them without looking at the small print.

It would be better if people would make their own arrangements and on their own time schedule.

We have found the best gifts to be the gifts offered when you are on a vacation in a high timeshare demand area of the country and there are a lot of timeshare resorts in the area to get the gifts offered by the resorts outside (OPC) "off premise customer" booths. These are booths that resorts have that are located in shopping malls etc, etc.

Thanks for contributing your article.
